Anagrid is a daily word puzzle: five scrambled words, one per row. Swap letters within a row until it spells a word.

FAQ

How do I swap letters? Tap a letter, then tap another letter in the same row. You can also drag a letter sideways onto another one.

My word was real but the row didn't lock. Why? A row locks on any common English word that uses exactly its letters (EARTH works as well as HEART). Very rare words, names and abbreviations don't count.

What is par? The fewest swaps that can possibly solve the puzzle. Solve in par swaps with no hints for three stars. Up to 5 swaps over par earns two stars. Any finish earns one.

What does a hint do? It puts one correct letter in place and locks it there. It adds 15 seconds to your time and counts as 2 extra swaps for stars, so a game with a hint can earn at most two stars.

When does the new puzzle arrive? At midnight, your local time. Words get longer through the week: 4 letters on Monday and Tuesday, 5 from Wednesday to Friday, 6 on the weekend.

How do streaks work? Solve the daily puzzle on back-to-back days. Your streak stays alive until a whole day passes without solving. Past puzzles and practice games don't affect it.

Does the timer keep running if I leave? No. It pauses when you leave the game screen, switch apps, or open How to Play. Your game is saved after every move, so you can pick it up later.

Can I play old puzzles? Yes. On the home screen, tap Past puzzles and choose a day. Replays count as practice.

I got a new phone. Where are my stats? Stats live on your iPhone and move with an iPhone backup or Quick Start transfer. Anagrid has no accounts or cloud sync.

How do I start over? Settings → Reset statistics.
