Version 1.0.3

Latest

Your fighter now levels up, every ability has its own scene, and a duel picks up where you left it.

  • Duels earn XP toward a fighter level from 1 to 10, which adds health and pays Coins as you climb
  • Cards earn a new frame as you play them, from black lacquer up to pearl
  • Every ability plays its own short scene, from the cast to where it lands
  • Tap any of your opponent's cards during a duel to read what it does
  • On a card's page, "See it in battle" plays that card in a real turn
  • Leave or reload and your duel waits for you; step away too long and the game moves for you, three times and you forfeit

Earlier versions (3)

  • Version 1.0.2

Battles fit on one screen with no scrolling, with bigger cards and both health bars side by side.

    What's in it (6)
    • A battle fits your screen from the draft to the result, whether the phone is upright or sideways, with no scrolling
    • Your cards are bigger and brighter, and the four basic moves sit beside them as small buttons
    • Both health bars sit at the top, yours on the left and your opponent's on the right, at the same size
    • A die that lands stands up, so you can always read the number it rolled
    • In Hands, tap any card to see its details or put it in your hand, or drag it straight into a slot
    • Finding an opponent takes a few seconds, and the search screen no longer counts the time
  • Version 1.0.1

Battles play out step by step, with clearer dice and bigger effects.

    What's in it (6)
    • Each turn plays slower, one step at a time, so you can see both picks, the dice and every hit
    • Dice are thrown beside each fighter, with a label saying whose roll it is and what it means
    • The finishing blow is its own big moment instead of a normal hit followed by a cut scene
    • Poison, chill and other effects show on the fighter, and lifesteal draws health back across
    • On a laptop the two fighters fill most of the screen, and there are new hats, sounds and battle music
    • A duel no longer hangs when the connection stalls
  • Version 1.0.0

Ukiyo Duels is out: one-on-one card duels in a bright 3D old Japan.

    What's in it (5)
    • Duel another player live, both of you picking a move each turn at the same time, or practice on your own
    • Collect weapons, shields and charms, level them up with Coins, and save five hands
    • Climb the Road from Edo to Kyoto across ten provinces, with a reward at every station
    • Draft modes, a weekly Pilgrimage run, festival events, friends, replays and a seasonal ranked ladder at Kyoto
    • Dress your fighter, and every chance in the game is listed on its Odds page; nothing random is sold
