AutoLabel Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 September 2026

AutoLabel is made by Kitchen Labs. It's a website for drawing and auto-labeling object boxes on images, for people training object-detection models. This page says, in plain English, what happens to your information.

The short version

  • Your images, videos, models, class lists and label files never leave your browser. The model runs inside the page on your own device.
  • To show your progress next time, AutoLabel saves a few counts about each labeling session (like how many boxes you drew) under an anonymous session, with no account.
  • You can delete those counts any time with Clear my saved stats.
  • There are no ads, no accounts and no selling of data.

What we handle, and why

Your files: nothing leaves your device. Images you add (or frames from a video), the model file, your class list and any label files are read by your browser and kept in its memory. The model runs there too, with onnxruntime-web. Nothing is uploaded to Kitchen Labs or anyone else. Exports are made in your browser and downloaded straight to your device. Closing or reloading the page forgets them.

An anonymous session and your labeling stats. When you open the labeling page, AutoLabel signs in invisibly with a random ID that isn't linked to your name, email or device. Under that ID it saves one small record per labeling session to Kitchen Labs' database (hosted by Supabase):

  • how many images you loaded, labeled, verified and flagged, and how many were auto-labeled;
  • how many boxes you drew, and how many boxes each class has (up to 50 class names, each cut to 40 characters);
  • active time spent (only while the tab is visible and you've used it in the last two minutes);
  • the model's file name (for example best.onnx), or "YOLOX-Nano (demo)" for the demo;
  • whether it was the demo, and when the session started and was last updated.

We keep this so the stats panel can show your progress over time. We only keep your newest 200 sessions: when a new one starts, older ones beyond that are deleted automatically. Other visitors can't read your records: the database only lets the anonymous ID that wrote them read or change them (apart from Kitchen Labs' own administrator access).

Class names are whatever you typed or loaded, so please don't use personal details (like people's names) as class names.

Visitor numbers. AutoLabel uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies. It records the page, the referring site, rough location (country, region, city), and browser, device type and operating system, as aggregated statistics not tied to any person or IP address. See Vercel's Web Analytics privacy page.

Hosting. The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any website host, Vercel's servers log requests (such as IP address, browser and the page asked for) for a limited time to run and protect the service.

What stays on your device

Your images, models, labels, class lists and exports, plus the anonymous login ID and your light/dark choice, which are kept in your browser's storage for this site.

How to delete your data

  • Clear my saved stats (in the "This session" panel on the labeling page) deletes every session record saved for this browser and makes the browser forget the anonymous ID. The ID itself then stays on our server with no data attached, and nothing can link it back to you.
  • Clearing this site's data in your browser settings also makes the browser forget the anonymous ID, but it doesn't delete the records already saved; they stay on our server, with nothing linking them to you, until you ask us to remove them. Use Clear my saved stats first if you want them gone.
  • Or email us and we'll delete them for you.

What we don't do

No advertising, no cookies for tracking, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling or sharing of data. We don't ask for your name, email, location, contacts or files.

Children

AutoLabel is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from them.
