Chiquitos: Ukiyo Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 September 2026

Chiquitos: Ukiyo is made by Kitchen Labs. It's a party game: one screen hosts the table, and everyone plays from their phone. This page says, in plain English, what happens to your information.

The short version

  • There are no accounts, emails or passwords. Each device gets an anonymous session the first time it joins.
  • A game room and everything that happened in it is deleted 24 hours after it was created.
  • Some of the game's characters talk back using an AI service. If you type a chat line, that line is sent to the AI word for word, so don't type anything private.
  • There are no ads and no analytics or tracking code.

What we handle, and why

An anonymous session. When the TV or a phone first opens a room, it signs in to Kitchen Labs' database (hosted by Supabase) with a random anonymous ID. Nothing links that ID to your name, email or phone. We keep a small profile row for it with a display name ("Host", "Player", or the name in the invite link) so the game can show who is at the table.

The room. The host screen creates a room with a four-letter code and saves the state of the game as it goes, so a reloaded TV can pick up where it left off. The room, its list of players and the game's events (the lines the characters said and the final results) are deleted automatically 24 hours after the room was made. While a room is still in its lobby, anyone with the code can see that it exists; that's how joining works.

Live play. Taps, bets, picks and chat travel between the phones and the TV in real time and are not stored, except for the results listed above.

Stats that stay. At the end of a night the game saves a few play statistics per player and character (for example, nights finished). These, your anonymous ID and your display name are kept so returning players see their history. They are not deleted with the room.

The AI characters. To make the characters react, our server sends a short description of the moment to an AI service: the chapter, the table, the stake, the characters playing and, if you typed a chat line, that line exactly as you wrote it (up to 80 characters). The narration never includes anyone's hidden cards. The AI service is run by a third-party AI provider, which does not use it to train its models. Your phone never talks to that service itself; it only talks to our server. If no AI service answers, the game uses written lines instead and plays exactly the same.

What stays on your device

Your music on/off setting and your anonymous session are kept in your browser's storage until you clear this site's data.

What we don't do

  • No accounts, no ads, no selling or sharing of data.
  • No analytics or tracking code is included in the game.
  • Fonts are served from our own site, not from Google.

Deleting your information

Rooms delete themselves after 24 hours. To remove your profile and play statistics, contact us with roughly when you played and the name you used; there is no delete button in the game yet. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes your session from your device.

Children

Chiquitos: Ukiyo is a party game for adults and isn't meant for children under 13.
