Cosmiq Privacy Policy

Cosmiq is made by Kitchen Labs. It's a tarot deck and journal. This page says, in plain English, what happens to your information.
The short version
- Your readings, journal, notes, moods, daily cards and collection stay on your phone.
- When you ask for a reading, the cards you drew (and your question, if you wrote one) are sent to our server and a third-party AI service to write the reading, then thrown away.
- There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking.
What we handle, and why
Readings. Each time you tap Read my cards the app sends, over an encrypted connection, to Kitchen Labs' server (hosted by Supabase): the spread's name, each card and its place in the spread, whether it's upside down, the card's meaning, the reading tone you chose, and your question if you typed one. Our server passes this to a third-party AI service to write the reading and streams it back to your phone. Kitchen Labs does not store the cards, your question or the reading. The AI service processes them under its API terms, which say API data isn't used to train its models and may be kept for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. Your name, email, contacts, location, notes, moods and journal are never sent.
Please don't type personal details (names, health details and so on) into your question.
When you're offline or have had today's AI readings, nothing about your reading leaves your phone: it's built on the device from each card's classic meaning.
An anonymous session. To keep the free AI readings fair, the app signs in invisibly with a random ID that isn't linked to your name, email or device identifiers. Our server counts how many AI readings that ID has had each day (for example "3 readings today") so it can apply a daily limit. That count is all we keep.
What stays on your phone
Every reading (cards, spread, question, tone and the written reading), your notes, moods and "how it played out", your daily cards and streak, the cards you've discovered, and your settings are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.
In Settings → Your data you can:
- Export my data — a readable file of everything Cosmiq has stored.
- Delete all my data — removes every reading, note, daily card and discovery from the phone.
What we don't do
No advertising, no analytics SDKs, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling or sharing of data. We don't ask for your name, email, location, contacts or photos.
Reflection, not advice
Cosmiq is for reflection and entertainment. It can't predict the future or replace medical, financial or legal advice. The AI is told to decline those questions and suggest a qualified professional instead.
Children
Cosmiq is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from them.
