Common questions
How do I do a reading? On Today, tap New reading and pick a spread. Drag the deck sideways and let go to shuffle it (three or more shuffles is best), then tap Cut the deck and choose a pile. Tap cards in the fan to pick them — your first pick fills the first place in the spread. Turn the cards over, then tap Read my cards.
Is the card I tap really the card I get? Yes. Cosmiq keeps the whole deck in order. Your shuffles and your cut change that order, and the card you tap in the fan is the card at that spot.
What does "upside down" (reversed) mean? A card that lands upside down often softens, blocks or turns its meaning inward. If you'd rather not use them, turn off Upside-down cards in Settings.
Can I use my own tarot deck? Yes. Tap Use my own deck on Today, pick a spread, then draw from your deck and find each card with search. Search covers all 78 cards.
Why did I get the card meanings instead of an AI reading? One of these happened: you're offline, you've had today's 10 AI readings (new ones unlock at midnight UTC), or your question was about health, money or the law, which the AI doesn't answer. You always get a full reading from the card meanings.
How does the streak work? Reveal your daily card each day to grow your streak. If you miss one day, a freeze covers it automatically — one freeze per week (Monday to Sunday).
What is stardust? Points you earn for readings, daily cards, discovering new cards and writing reflections. They raise your level, and new levels unlock new card backs.
Where is my journal stored? Can I move it to a new phone? Only on your phone. Use Settings → Export my data to save a copy. There's no account, so readings don't sync between devices.
How do I delete everything? Settings → Delete all my data, or delete the app.
No sound? Check the ringer switch and that Sounds is on in Settings. Night-sky music controls the background music separately.
