Flux Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 October 2026
Flux is made by Kitchen Labs. It's a beat maker that runs in your web browser. This page says, in plain English, what happens to your information.
The short version
- Your beats stay in your browser. There are no accounts.
- If you use Ask the AI, the words you type (and, when you ask for a change, the pads of your current beat) are sent to our server and to a third-party AI service to write the beat, then thrown away.
- No ads, no analytics and no tracking.
What we handle, and why
Ask the AI (only when you press its button). When you tap Make my beat or Change it, Flux sends what you typed to Kitchen Labs' server (hosted by Vercel) over an encrypted connection. For a change, it also sends the beat you're changing: its name, tempo, swing, key and which pads are lit. Our server passes this to a third-party AI service, which writes the beat, and sends the answer back to your browser. Kitchen Labs does not store what you typed or the answer, except for a short-lived copy in the server's memory so the same request asked twice gets the same answer without a second AI call. That copy is not linked to you and is gone within a day. Our AI provider does not use it to train its models, and may keep it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.
Please don't type personal details into the AI box.
Fair use limits. To keep the AI free and fair, our server counts AI requests per network address (IP address) for a minute and for a day, in memory only. The counts are not written to a database and disappear when the server restarts.
Server logs. Like every website, our host (Vercel) keeps short-lived technical logs of requests (such as the page asked for and the time). Our own log lines record the size of each AI request in tokens and, when something fails, the error. They don't record what you typed.
What stays in your browser
The beat you're working on and your conversation with the AI are saved in your browser's storage, so they're still there when you come back. They never leave your device unless you use Ask the AI as described above. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them.
Files you save (Save beat file, Record audio) are made on your device and go wherever you save them. Opening a beat file reads it in your browser only.
What we don't do
No advertising, no analytics, no cookies for tracking, no selling or sharing of data. We don't ask for your name, email, location or any account.
Children
Flux is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from them.
