Frequently asked questions

How do I plan a trip? Open Discover and choose a way to plan: Chat (say what you feel like), Filter (pick kinds of places, budget, distance and number of stops) or Surprise me (pick how much time you have). Choose how you're getting around, then tap the orange button.

Are these real places? Yes. Every stop comes from Apple Maps near you. Hanoot's planner can only choose from those places, so it never makes places up.

Are the opening hours right? Apple Maps doesn't share opening hours with apps, so Hanoot favors places that are usually open at that time of day but can't promise it. Check before you go — tap Directions to open the place in Apple Maps, which shows hours.

How do I change a stop? Tap Swap on the stop. Swipe right (or tap Use this) to take a suggestion, or swipe left (or tap Skip) to see the next. Times and travel update automatically.

Why does it say "Location is off"? Hanoot needs your location to find places near you. Go to Settings → Hanoot → Location and choose "While Using the App". Approximate location works fine.

Do I need an account? Only to save trips. You can plan and share without one. Sign in with Apple or email from the Profile tab.

Where do the photos come from? Landmarks and well-known spots show free-licensed photos from Wikimedia Commons, found through their Wikipedia articles. Other places show Apple Maps Look Around street pictures or a map. Tap a stop's photo, or the i on a big photo, to see who took it and its license.

How do I share a trip? Tap the share button at the top of any trip. It sends a simple itinerary with an Apple Maps link for each stop.

It says I've reached today's limit. To keep Hanoot free, each account can make a limited number of plans per day. The limit resets at midnight UTC.

How do I delete my account? Profile → Delete account. This removes your profile and all saved trips from Hanoot, permanently.

I forgot my password. On the sign-in screen, enter your email and tap "Forgot password?" to get a reset link.
