Ledgewise Privacy Policy

Ledgewise is made by Kitchen Labs. It's a free website with short money lessons, a growth calculator, a blog and an AI money tutor. This page says, in plain English, what happens to your information.
The short version
- There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking.
- Your lesson progress and quiz answers stay in your browser on this device.
- If you ask the tutor a question, that question (and the last few messages of your chat) is sent to our server and an AI service to write the answer, then thrown away.
What we handle, and why
Tutor questions (only when you press Send). When you send a message on the Tutor page, the site sends, over an encrypted connection, your question and up to the last few messages of the current chat to Kitchen Labs' server (hosted by Vercel). Our server passes them to a third-party AI service to write a short answer and sends it back. Kitchen Labs does not store your questions or the answers. Our AI provider does not use them to train its models, and may keep them for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.
Please don't type personal details (account numbers, names, addresses and so on) into the tutor.
A short-lived count to keep the tutor fair. To stop one visitor from using up the tutor, our server counts how many questions each internet (IP) address has sent in the last minute and the last day. The count lives only in the server's memory, isn't linked to anything else, and is gone within a day.
Standard server logs. Like any website, our host keeps routine request logs (such as IP address, the page requested and the time) for security and to keep the site running. We don't use them to identify or track you.
What stays on your device
Your lesson progress (which slide you're on, your quiz and test answers, completed lessons and best scores) and your light or dark mode choice are saved in your browser's local storage on this device. They never leave it. Clearing this site's data in your browser deletes them. The calculator runs entirely in your browser; the numbers you type are never sent anywhere.
What we don't do
No advertising, no analytics tools, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling or sharing of data. We don't ask for your name, email, location, contacts or photos.
Learning, not advice
Ledgewise is for education. The lessons, calculator and tutor explain general ideas and can't replace advice from a qualified professional who knows your situation. The tutor is told not to recommend specific investments.
Children
Ledgewise is meant for teens and adults. It is not directed at children under 13 and doesn't ask anyone for personal information.
