Meridian Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 October 2026
Meridian is made by Kitchen Labs. It's a private trading lab: a set of rule-based strategies trades a practice account (pretend money at a broker) and each one has to pass a ladder of tests. It has one user, its owner. Anyone can look around the demo. This page says, in plain English, what happens to your information.
The short version
- If you're visiting: the demo shows sample data and remembers only that you're in the demo (one cookie). We don't ask who you are.
- If you tap Get a read on the Advisor page, a short summary of the account's numbers (never anything about you) is sent to a third-party AI service to write a few sentences.
- There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
Visitors and the demo
Try the demo sets one cookie, meridian_demo, so each page knows to show sample data. It holds nothing but the value 1, lasts up to a day, and is removed when you go back to the sign-in page. The sample data is a copy of the practice account's history with the broker account number, order numbers and any email addresses replaced by made-up ones. Nothing you do in the demo is saved, and the demo can't place a trade or change a setting.
Your light or dark choice is saved in your own browser (local storage, key theme) and never sent to us.
The advisor's read
When you tap Get a read, Meridian's server builds a small summary of numbers it already shows on the "How it's going" page (the account's value, how each strategy has done, how many readiness checks pass) and sends it, over an encrypted connection, to a third-party AI service, which writes a few plain-English sentences. Nothing about you is in that summary. Our AI provider does not use it to train its models, and may keep it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. The server keeps the answer in its own memory for up to six hours, so the same numbers aren't sent twice, and then forgets it.
To keep this fair, the server counts how many reads each visitor asks for in an hour, keyed by the visitor's IP address. That count lives only in the server's memory and disappears within the hour.
The owner
Signing in uses a password; the account behind it is held by Supabase (the database service Meridian runs on). Supabase keeps a session cookie in the owner's browser. The practice account's trades, balances and journal are stored in Meridian's database, and the strategies read market prices from Alpaca, Tiingo, Finnhub, Yahoo and Stooq. None of that involves visitors.
Hosting
Meridian runs on Vercel, which, like any web host, handles each request's IP address and keeps standard server logs for a short time to run and protect the service.
What we don't do
No advertising, no analytics tools, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling or sharing of data. We don't ask visitors for a name, email, location or anything else.
Not financial advice
Meridian is a personal experiment that trades pretend money. Nothing on it, including the advisor's read, is advice about what you should do with real money.
Children
Meridian is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from them.
