Resumio Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 October 2026
Resumio is made by Kitchen Labs. It turns your career notes into a one-page resume in your web browser. This page says, in plain English, what happens to your information.
The short version
- Your notes and your resume are saved only in your browser, on your device.
- If you choose Build my resume or Tighten, the text involved is sent to our server and an AI service to do that job, then thrown away. Nothing is stored on our side.
- If you choose Build without AI, nothing you type leaves your browser.
- There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking.
What we handle, and why
Build my resume (AI). When you tap Build my resume, the notes in the box are sent over an encrypted connection to Kitchen Labs' server (hosted by Vercel). Our server passes them to a third-party AI service, which returns your resume in sections, and our server sends that back to your browser. Kitchen Labs does not store your notes or the resume. Our server logs record that a build happened, how many AI tokens it used and whether it worked, but not what you wrote. The AI service processes the text under its terms for business use: our AI provider does not use it to train its models, and may keep it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.
Tighten (AI). When you tap Tighten on a line, only that one line is sent, the same way, and the shorter version comes back. It isn't stored either.
Limits. To keep the free AI fair, our server counts how many AI requests come from each internet (IP) address in a short window and in a day. That count is kept only in the server's memory, is never linked to what you wrote, and disappears when the server restarts.
If the AI is unavailable or you reach the limit, Resumio uses its built-in rules instead, on our server or in your browser, and stores nothing.
Build without AI. This runs entirely in your browser. Your notes are not sent anywhere.
What stays in your browser
Your notes, your resume (with every edit), your chosen template and paper size are saved in your browser's local storage so they're still there when you come back. They never leave your device unless you use an AI button as described above. Files you upload are read in your browser; the file itself is never sent anywhere. PDFs, Markdown and text files you export are made in your browser and saved by you.
To delete everything, tap Start over (then don't undo), or clear this site's data in your browser settings.
What we don't do
No accounts, no advertising, no analytics or tracking scripts, no cookies for tracking, and no selling or sharing of data. We don't ask for your name, email or location; what you put in your resume is up to you and stays with you.
Children
Resumio is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from them.
