Common questions
How do I make my resume? Paste your notes into Your notes (or tap Upload to load a .md or .txt file), then tap Build my resume. Your resume appears on the right (on a phone, under Preview). To see how it works first, tap Try an example.
What should I put in my notes? Anything: jobs with dates, projects, wins with numbers, skills and school, in any order. Headings like ## Experience, ## Projects, ## Education and ## Skills help, and a line such as ### Company (Jan 2023 – now, Your role, City) starts a job. Numbers make bullets stronger; write them in.
How do I change something on the page? Click any text on the page and type. Press Enter to finish (in a bullet, Enter starts the next one) or Escape to cancel. Select a bullet to Tighten it, add a line after it, or delete it. Select a job's name to add a bullet or delete the whole entry, and a section heading to move or delete the section. Undo brings back the last change.
How do I make a number bold? Select it in a bullet and press Cmd+B (Ctrl+B on Windows). In your notes, write 31%.
What's the difference between the templates? Classic is the serif look of a LaTeX resume, with small-caps headings and rules. Modern is a clean sans-serif with a left-aligned name. Compact puts headings in a narrow left column and fits the most on a page. All three read top to bottom as plain text, which suits applicant tracking systems.
Why did the page say "Over one page"? Resumio shrinks the type a little to keep everything on one page, but only so far. Delete a line or two, or switch to Compact. A dashed line on the page shows where page one ends.
How do I get a PDF? Tap Export, then PDF. In the print window, choose Save as PDF as the destination. The paper size (Letter or A4) follows your choice above the page. Export also saves Markdown (.md) and plain text (.txt), which is handy for application forms.
Why does it say "Built without AI"? Either you chose Build without AI, or the AI was busy, paused or at its limit, so Resumio's built-in rules structured your notes instead. Headed notes come out well either way; check the page and edit anything it missed.
Is my resume saved? Can I open it on another device? It's saved in this browser on this device, and it's there when you come back. There are no accounts, so it doesn't sync. Export Markdown to move it, then upload that file on the other device.
How do I delete everything? Tap Start over, or clear this site's data in your browser.
