Upgrade Privacy Policy

Upgrade is made by Kitchen Labs. It's a text adventure you play in your web browser: you make a hero, take on missions, level up and face the Hollow King. This page says, in plain English, what happens to your information.

The short version

• There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for.
• Your game is saved only in your own browser. It never reaches our servers.
• No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no cookies.

What we handle, and why

Nothing about you. The game runs entirely in your browser. The name you give your hero, your choices, your progress and your gear stay on your device. We don't have a database for Upgrade, and the game doesn't send your save anywhere.

Server logs. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard request logs when your browser loads the game (such as the page requested, the time, and your IP address) for a short period. We use them only to keep the site running.

What stays on your device

Your browser keeps one save slot for Upgrade (in its local storage), updated after every choice. Clearing your browser's site data deletes it. If you copy a save code from the menu, that code is your whole game as text: keep it wherever you like, and paste it into Upgrade on another device to carry on. We never see it.

What we don't do

No advertising, no analytics tools, no cookies for tracking, no selling or sharing of data. We don't ask for your email, phone number, location or contacts.

Children

Upgrade is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. It doesn't collect personal information from anyone.
